Soul-Centered Living

This month I was blessed to spend some time with a dear friend of mine, Anael, in the city of Safed that overlooks the beautiful sea of Galilee (this is a photo taken from her front garden).

Anael is a poet, a peace activist and most importantly a really dear friend. She is the middle east director of Creativity for Peace, a platform that fosters deep connection and friendship amongst Palestinian and Israeli girls (as some of you already know, facilitating compassionate dialogue, finding common ground, and fostering deep and meaningful connections amongst seemingly diverse people of all faiths and cultures is one of the areas I have been called forth to serve at this time). She is truly a woman who walks her talk and I am always so grateful to have the freedom and time to revel in the company of my ‘kindred soul’ friends (If you are called learn more you can visit: www.creativityforpeace.com)

That is what I love about being a soul-centered entrepreneur. I get to set my own timetable, do my souls’ work, spend valuable time with family and friends, honor my intuition and natural cycles ( to balance rest and work), …AND ( I know, I have to pinch myself at times to make sure this is real ) prosper in the process. All this from the comfort of my own hand picked vacation spot (thank you Bill Gates, my laptop, skype and my incredible clients who are spread all over the planet – you know who you are and that I feel honored and blessed to be working with you!).

I can honestly say that all this would not have been possible had I not developed a truly solid relationship with my intuition. It is my intuition that has helped me breakthrough some of my own limiting beliefs that deemed prosperity, travel, soul-work and play as separate entities that could in no way co-exist or go hand in hand (luckily these beliefs are now mostly a part of my past – but more about how I broke through them another time). My intuition guided me otherwise, which is why I am such an advocate of developing a solid relationship with our intuition as a premise to manifesting and LIVING our most heartfelt dreams.

May this month continue to bless you with infinite blessings,

Love and Lightness,

Tal

P.S. If you would like a fun and effective tool to help YOU access your OWN intuition, I highly recommend using the Intuition Heart Cards. Although I did create them myself (ok...this is my blog after all...smile), I can honestly say that I use them daily to help me access my own inner guidance (and I have done so for years:). The Art of Stretching Time

The ancient Greeks had two words for time, chronos and kairos. While chronos refers to the time of physics or linear-sequential time (such as that of the clock "alarming" you out of bed in the morning), kairos refers to a moment or period of undetermined time in which something meaningful happens (of course only you can determine what is meaningful to you!).

Let's just say that chronos is 'physical' or 'clock' time, and kairos is 'metaphysical time' that transcends the limitations of time and space as we know it.

So before you begin wondering how this has anything to do with you, your life, or your business, let me say that as a super busy soul-preneur, I have learned to tune into kairos time as a potent way of leveraging the same 24 hour day we all have, to create more breathing space for my spirit and soul. The bottom line is that I get more done in less time while still enjoying an extra dose of graceful flow in my day.

So here are a few pointers to get you flowing with kairos time rather than running a race against "clock" time.

1. SET A CLEAR INTENTION. Intention, like a compass, aligns us with our desired experience and draws to us the essence we seek. I use the following intention daily (and of course you are welcome to use it too if it resonates for you): "Today I am experiencing an abundance of time, creativity and joy as my goals and intentions easily and gracefully flow into place in perfect divine timing."

2. FOCUS ON YOUR BREATH. Whenever you feel yourself moving into overwhelm (or why even wait for it to show up), take two to five minutes of 'time out' to focus on your breath. Overwhelm is a function of our mind fretting over the past or future, or of continually recycling thoughts that do not serve our well-being. We can only breathe in the present moment, so by focusing on our breath we move our attention, if only for a while, from the incessant chatter of our minds to the refreshing tranquility of the present moment. The more present we are in the moment, the more open we are to transcend linear time and align with the flow of kairos time

3. FIND YOUR PASSION. Have you ever been so completely engaged in an activity you love, that you completely "lost track of time"? What you 'lost' was actually your sense of linear time, which is exactly what happens when we fully immerse ourselves, and are fully present to, the activity at hand, so much so that we spontaneously enter the delicious flow of kairos time.

4. MOVE YOUR BODY. Einstein said that we cannot solve a problem from the same level of thinking (of consciousness) that created the problem in the first place. Linear time is a construct of the mind. Therefore, if we want to move out of linear time we need to move out of our minds and into our bodies. I love taking a few "movement breaks" during my day, to shake away any pent up overwhelm or stress, to the beat of my favorite music. These days, moving your hips to your favorite mp3 tracks is a breeze - and you can always find privacy at your local "private sacred temple" often symbolized by two big O's (Ok girls and boys, I'll spell it out for you....I am referring to the good 'ole dependable "LOO").

I invite you not to underestimate the potent power of these simple exercises. Try them and enjoy them. They have everything to do with getting out of your own way and into the delicious flow that is readily available to you at all times. Creativity and efficiency are functions of creating open and receptive channels for inspiration to flow to us and through us. It's good for you, your business and ultimately your bottom line.

What's Your New Look For 2009?

"When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change"- Wayne Dyer

Another way of framing this quote is that "the way we look at an issue, IS the issue".

This month I invite you to identify something in your life that you perceive as an issue. Then reframe this issue and see if you can view it with fresh and more compassionate eyes that take into consideration your PROCESS, and not only your GOAL or destination.

For example, if you have set a goal to earn more money in your business and you are not there yet, how about looking at the situation from a process oriented perspective (rather than a goal perspective). In other words, a process oriented approach, takes into account your growth and learning (which is why we are here on this earth -to grow and learn). Ask yourself what you are learning in the process.

In the above case, you may be learning about patience, or about the need to acquire another skill set, or about the importance of working with a team to create more effective results. Then identify one creative action step you will take to set your goal in action (and into the realm of process).

Let me recap:
1. Identify your (perceived) issue.
2. Reframe your issue (ask yourself: "What is my opportunity for learning/growing here?)
3. Take one action step (or more) based on what you identified above.

May 2009 bless you with much learning, growth, abundance, joy and inspiration (...and many more heartfelt goodies).

With Love and Lightness,

Tal
