Soul-Centered Living

This month I was blessed to spend some time with a dear friend of mine, Anael, in the city of Safed that overlooks the beautiful sea of Galilee (this is a photo taken from her front garden).

Anael is a poet, a peace activist and most importantly a really dear friend. She is the middle east director of Creativity for Peace, a platform that fosters deep connection and friendship amongst Palestinian and Israeli girls (as some of you already know, facilitating compassionate dialogue, finding common ground, and fostering deep and meaningful connections amongst seemingly diverse people of all faiths and cultures is one of the areas I have been called forth to serve at this time). She is truly a woman who walks her talk and I am always so grateful to have the freedom and time to revel in the company of my ‘kindred soul’ friends (If you are called learn more you can visit: www.creativityforpeace.com)

That is what I love about being a soul-centered entrepreneur. I get to set my own timetable, do my souls’ work, spend valuable time with family and friends, honor my intuition and natural cycles ( to balance rest and work), …AND ( I know, I have to pinch myself at times to make sure this is real ) prosper in the process. All this from the comfort of my own hand picked vacation spot (thank you Bill Gates, my laptop, skype and my incredible clients who are spread all over the planet – you know who you are and that I feel honored and blessed to be working with you!).

I can honestly say that all this would not have been possible had I not developed a truly solid relationship with my intuition. It is my intuition that has helped me breakthrough some of my own limiting beliefs that deemed prosperity, travel, soul-work and play as separate entities that could in no way co-exist or go hand in hand (luckily these beliefs are now mostly a part of my past – but more about how I broke through them another time). My intuition guided me otherwise, which is why I am such an advocate of developing a solid relationship with our intuition as a premise to manifesting and LIVING our most heartfelt dreams.

May this month continue to bless you with infinite blessings,

Love and Lightness,

Tal

P.S. If you would like a fun and effective tool to help YOU access your OWN intuition, I highly recommend using the Intuition Heart Cards. Although I did create them myself (ok...this is my blog after all...smile), I can honestly say that I use them daily to help me access my own inner guidance (and I have done so for years:). The Art of Stretching Time

The ancient Greeks had two words for time, chronos and kairos. While chronos refers to the time of physics or linear-sequential time (such as that of the clock "alarming" you out of bed in the morning), kairos refers to a moment or period of undetermined time in which something meaningful happens (of course only you can determine what is meaningful to you!).

Let's just say that chronos is 'physical' or 'clock' time, and kairos is 'metaphysical time' that transcends the limitations of time and space as we know it.

So before you begin wondering how this has anything to do with you, your life, or your business, let me say that as a super busy soul-preneur, I have learned to tune into kairos time as a potent way of leveraging the same 24 hour day we all have, to create more breathing space for my spirit and soul. The bottom line is that I get more done in less time while still enjoying an extra dose of graceful flow in my day.

So here are a few pointers to get you flowing with kairos time rather than running a race against "clock" time.

1. SET A CLEAR INTENTION. Intention, like a compass, aligns us with our desired experience and draws to us the essence we seek. I use the following intention daily (and of course you are welcome to use it too if it resonates for you): "Today I am experiencing an abundance of time, creativity and joy as my goals and intentions easily and gracefully flow into place in perfect divine timing."

2. FOCUS ON YOUR BREATH. Whenever you feel yourself moving into overwhelm (or why even wait for it to show up), take two to five minutes of 'time out' to focus on your breath. Overwhelm is a function of our mind fretting over the past or future, or of continually recycling thoughts that do not serve our well-being. We can only breathe in the present moment, so by focusing on our breath we move our attention, if only for a while, from the incessant chatter of our minds to the refreshing tranquility of the present moment. The more present we are in the moment, the more open we are to transcend linear time and align with the flow of kairos time

3. FIND YOUR PASSION. Have you ever been so completely engaged in an activity you love, that you completely "lost track of time"? What you 'lost' was actually your sense of linear time, which is exactly what happens when we fully immerse ourselves, and are fully present to, the activity at hand, so much so that we spontaneously enter the delicious flow of kairos time.

4. MOVE YOUR BODY. Einstein said that we cannot solve a problem from the same level of thinking (of consciousness) that created the problem in the first place. Linear time is a construct of the mind. Therefore, if we want to move out of linear time we need to move out of our minds and into our bodies. I love taking a few "movement breaks" during my day, to shake away any pent up overwhelm or stress, to the beat of my favorite music. These days, moving your hips to your favorite mp3 tracks is a breeze - and you can always find privacy at your local "private sacred temple" often symbolized by two big O's (Ok girls and boys, I'll spell it out for you....I am referring to the good 'ole dependable "LOO").

I invite you not to underestimate the potent power of these simple exercises. Try them and enjoy them. They have everything to do with getting out of your own way and into the delicious flow that is readily available to you at all times. Creativity and efficiency are functions of creating open and receptive channels for inspiration to flow to us and through us. It's good for you, your business and ultimately your bottom line.

What's Your New Look For 2009?

"When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change"- Wayne Dyer

Another way of framing this quote is that "the way we look at an issue, IS the issue".

This month I invite you to identify something in your life that you perceive as an issue. Then reframe this issue and see if you can view it with fresh and more compassionate eyes that take into consideration your PROCESS, and not only your GOAL or destination.

For example, if you have set a goal to earn more money in your business and you are not there yet, how about looking at the situation from a process oriented perspective (rather than a goal perspective). In other words, a process oriented approach, takes into account your growth and learning (which is why we are here on this earth -to grow and learn). Ask yourself what you are learning in the process.

In the above case, you may be learning about patience, or about the need to acquire another skill set, or about the importance of working with a team to create more effective results. Then identify one creative action step you will take to set your goal in action (and into the realm of process).

Let me recap:
1. Identify your (perceived) issue.
2. Reframe your issue (ask yourself: "What is my opportunity for learning/growing here?)
3. Take one action step (or more) based on what you identified above.

May 2009 bless you with much learning, growth, abundance, joy and inspiration (...and many more heartfelt goodies).

With Love and Lightness,

Tal

Birthing A Miracle

So many of you have been writing to ask me if I do phone readings using the Intuition Heart Cards?

The answer is YES! I love helping YOU tune into YOUR own intuition. I have a passion for helping YOU learn how to use the cards so that you can ultimately work with them independently, as a tool to activate your own inner wisdom. (CLICK HERE for more information about Intuitive Coaching Sessions with the Intuition Heart Cards )

Did you know that using images to activate your intuition is EXTREMELY potent! As a matter of fact, if you ask almost any psychic or healer, they will tell you that much of the information they receive comes through imagery.

During a counseling session with a client, I will often receive an image of a particular issue or dynamic in that person's life. When I relate this image and we 'work' through it together, it will often hold the key to meaningful and cathartic "work".

When my clients receive a meaningful image through a dream or by using the cards, this will tend to open them up to a depth that is unavailable by processing through the intellect alone.

Images are the language of our soul, so when we learn to work with images, they can connect us with the deepest layers of our Self and jumpstart a process of authentic introspection and movement towards genuine inner clarity.

To celebrate my passion for working with images , I would like to share with you an excerpt from the Intuition Heart Cards Guideboook, an interactive tool (with guidebook of course) I designed to help you tune into your own inner wisdom. ENJOY!

I am birthing a miracle in my life.

co-creation fusion union new entity birthing a newborn baby marriage partnership new enterprise life force synergy joint venture relationship labor pains merging new life

When you get this card in a reading you are ready to give birth to your creations. Creation, as symbolized by the small yellow heart born from the mergence of the two larger hearts, requires partnership. It is a co-creative process. Whether you have partnered up with another person, a group of people, a business, or divine source, the dream or vision you have patiently cultivated is ready to spring forth into your reality. This is a time to celebrate the efforts you have made tending to your dreams, building up their strength and preparing them to birth themselves into your reality. This card cautions you not to give up on your dream a moment before it manifests in your life. You are reminded of both the joys and pains that accompany the birthing process. You may be experiencing the labor pains that precede the birth of a 'newborn'. Your creation, project or venture may require a few final pushes, a few last efforts, to aid it into the light of day. There is no going back now. Your “baby” is ready to be born. By embracing the paradoxical nature of the birthing process, you will be able to move through it with more acceptance and serenity. Congratulations! You are about to become the proud parent of your own co-creation.

This Being Human is a Guest House

Dear Tal,
Thank you for sending me all the inspiring information. I am 56 year male in good health. Recently I have discovered so called eye floaters in my eyes (a few) - they are little tiny translucent floating threads or strands that get in the line of my vision. I have seen a number of eye doctors and was told that it is all normal for my age-not much consolation there. I wonder if I use mind powers with affirmations to make them go away, do you think this might work? I was advised not to focus on them when I see them but this ego mind within me can get stubborn and usually will complain that the floaters shouldn't be there in the first place. I'd appreciate your comments on the above.
With regards,

Larry

Dear Larry,

Thank you for writing me.

Firstly, let me say that the use of affirmations or visualizations, or any tool we use to support our mind to focus on that which we desire, is an extremely potent practice. Our positive focus, when coupled with a matching feeling vibration, is very much like tuning our personal dial to the field of infinite potentiality or source - from which all consciousness and matter arises – from which non-local energy becomes localized or physical.

That said, although we are powerful CO-creators, we are not the ones who make things happen. Our ego is never really in charge of the show, although it usually likes to think it is.

We create with source (thereby co-creating) by ALLOWING ourselves to ALIGN with it, for it is from source that all consciousness and matter arises.

One of the most potent ways to align with source is to simply get out of our own way. There are many ways of doing this but I have found that any practice that allows you to quiet the incessant chatter of your mind will do the trick.

Find an activity in which you literally lose your ‘self’, or rather your ego ‘self’, for awhile. You may find that physical activity does the trick, or painting, or watching a sunset. These activities take us out of our normal ‘state of being’ and into a somewhat ‘altered’ state of experiencing ourselves and the world. Even daydreaming is a form of an altered state, or shall I say, an alternate state of being. When we immerse ourselves in a practice wherein we literally lose our ego ‘self’ , for that time, we actually allow ourselves to align with the flow of source.

That said, another universal principle is that “what we resist persists”.

So resisting the workings of our ego will not make those ‘egoic’ parts our consciousness go away either. I have found that the best way to dissipate resistance is to cultivate deep listening and curiosity.

From a soul or ‘source’ perspective, each part of our consciousness, including our physical symptoms, are always present for a reason. They have a message, a lesson, an experience, a healing to share with us.

It is thus an effective practice to dialogue with whatever symptoms show up in our lives, be they physical, emotional or otherwise.

Larry, I invite you to cultivate a practice of deeply listening to your current physical symptoms – to your floaters. I invite you to engage in an inner dialogue with them. Rather than trying to make them go away, invite them in for a conversation, as you would a friend you would like to get to know better.

Ask the “floaters” what they would like to share with you? Why they have come to visit you at this time? What is the best way for you to allow and integrate the message or lesson or healing they have come to impart to you? Also, it is ok for you to express your anger or any other feelings that may be present for you. In the same manner, allow the floaters to express their feelings “through you”.

A great way to engage this process is to write out your dialogue in a journal. Allow whatever comes through to come through. Do not judge or censor. Remember, no-one has to read your process except you. It is useful to set an intention to go to the deepest level of healing and clarity that is available for you at this time. You may need to do it in a few sittings.

Engage in this process for the sake of learning and growing. Let go of results. Your job is to fully show up for the process and to surrender any expectations or results to source.

A sample dialogue may read in your journal as follows (You may want to later highlight any epiphanies that come through during the process):

Larry: Floaters, I would like to get to know you better…..I am curious about why you have shown up in my life at this time?
Floaters: I am not sure I trust you enough to share – you have shunned me for so long.
Larry: I am so sorry. I did not know any better at the time. But now I do. I would so like to get to know you better and find out why you have shown up in my life right now?
Floaters: Ok – I guess I am willing to give it a try.
Larry: I am so glad you are. Would you be willing to tell me why you have come into my life right now?
Floaters: Yes – there is something I want you to see that you are not willing to look at or face right now.
Larry: And what might that be?
etc. etc………

Do you see how this may unfold?

I will end off with Rumi‘s poem, “The Guest House”, that so poignantly highlights and speaks to the valuable practice of remaining open and present to all parts of our ‘self’.

The Guest House

This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.

A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.

Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they are a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still, treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.

The dark thought, the shame, the malice.
meet them at the door laughing and invite them in.

Be grateful for whatever comes.
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.

-- Jalaledin Rumi,

As always, sending you abundant blessings of much love and healing,

Warmly,

Tal

God Helps Those Who Help Themselves

Are you familiar with the idiom "God helps those who help themselves"? My own experience has shown me that it holds much truth.

When we begin taking action we create a magnetic field around ourselves that says “I mean 'business' and I am serious about moving forward with my goals and aspirations” . This creates an energetic opening for solutions to 'magically' appear out of no-where, which is simply another way of referring to the quantum field of infinite potentiality, where all possibilities lie.

The universe/spirit/infinite intelligence/God - whatever it is you call the source from which you derive your strength and guidance - MEETS US AT THE POINT OF ACTION.

Action is a potent way of setting an intention in motion.

Don't wait for your fears to go away before you take action.

Feel your fears and take action anyway!

Imagine holding your fears, like a little child, by their hand. Tell them you appreciate and honor them while at the same time let them know that you are the adult and that you will be taking the lead from now on. Like children, our fears may get anxious, cry or throw a tantrum when faced with change or with anything that is unknown, Make that ok by acknowledging their feelings (ie. your anxiety) and then TAKE ACTION in the direction of your heartfelt goals and aspirations.

Sending you many blessings of much joy!

Tal

The Journey

As we are called forth to step into new terrain, both inner and outer, in our lives, we have no choice but to leave behind those parts of ourselves and our life that no longer serve who we are becoming. This process can be quite challenging and is often accompanied by a period of grieving for that which was familiar and comfortable. Like clothes that no longer fit and need to be replaced, life beckons us to let go of beliefs, attitudes, people, places, and things that no longer fit our emerging self. During these times, listening to our inner guidance can be that which saves us from drowning in our own resistance, grief and despair.

The following poem speaks to this process. It was written by one of my favorite poets, Mary Oliver, and although I have read it numerous times, it never ceases to touch the very depth of my soul.

THE JOURNEY by Mary Oliver

One day you finally knew
what you had to do, and began,
though the voices around you
kept shouting
their bad advice
though the whole house
began to tremble
and you felt the old tug
at your ankles.
"Mend my life!"
each voice cried.
But you didn’t stop.
You knew what you had to do,
though the wind pried
with its stiff fingers
at the very foundations,
though their melancholy
was terrible.
It was already late
enough, and a wild night,
and the road full of fallen
branches and stones.
But little by little,
as you left their voices behind,
the stars began to burn
through the sheets of clouds,
and their was a new voice
which you slowly
recognized as your own,
that kept you company
as you strode deeper and deeper
into the world,
determined to do
the only thing you could do
determined to save
the only life you could save.

May your journey be blessed with the infinite guidance that resides within your own heart!

Love Heals

Healing is the application of loving to those places inside that hurt. It is when we hurt the most, when we are angry and defensive, that we most need the love we so often withhold from ourselves.

This is an exquisite video of the power of love to heal. Enjoy!

How To Connect With Your Dreams!

Lynne writes:

Tal, thank you for your 7 week e-course “The 7 Key Questions to Propel You towards the Life of Your Dreams”. I have just received the first lesson and I am feeling stuck. I simply do not have any dreams. In fact, my dream is having dreams. Please help!

Tal answers:

Thank you for your email Lynne (I have changed the name to respect confidentiality). I have worked with several clients who share a similar experience to yours and have thus decided to make my response accessible to all my subscribers.

As I see it, the purpose of having a dream is to bring us closer to living a life that is sourced in our most joyful essence. It is about striving to create opportunities in our life that will most gracefully support us in connecting with our unique gifts and expressing these in every aspect of our lives.

Lynne, if you are already living a life wherein you feel happy, content and joyful then you are already living what so many seek. I invite you to celebrate this and continue to do what you are doing!

That said, another possibility is that at some point in your life you cut yourself off from the joys of dreaming and from believing that your dreams could ever come true.

Most of us are born into this world with a very vivid imagination and a belief in the possible. It is not uncommon for a child to say that she wants to fly to the moon, become a famous actress or campaign for presidency of a country and change the world. A child has not yet learned to limit herself… and so, for her, anything is possible!

As children, however, we may have received the message from our closest environment, from our parents, culture, teachers etc., that what we imagine is not real and has no validity. This cue, whether verbal or not, can potentially cut us off from trusting and believing that the images and visions we hold in our minds are indeed creative seeds infused with the potential of sprouting into our reality.

Perhaps we observed our parents perceive themselves as ‘victims’ and, by default, we too concluded that we are at the mercy of our environment. Perhaps we made a decision to protect ourselves from further disappointment lest our ‘positive thinking’ bring us even more disappointment. Slowly but surely we cut ourselves off from the lush world of our creative imagination.

Gradually, without knowing when or how this process unfolded, we arrived at 'irrational’ conclusions about the very core of our being – about who we are, what we deserve, and what we are capable of achieving. We thus lost trust in the creative and potent faculty of our imagination and shut ourselves off from the very essence that gives our life purpose and vitality.

We probably bought into the belief that our outer circumstances determine who we are and who we shall become, forgetting that co-creation happens from the inside out – that our imagination affects our thoughts, our emotions, our actions and therefore our dreams!

Our imagination connects us with the lush world of our ‘authentic essence’. When we cut ourselves off from this essence we also cease to dream – we cease to connect with our innate knowing that we are indeed potent co-creators and that our dreams are messengers from our ‘authentic essence’ beckoning us to awaken to our own greatness!

That said, as we mature and evolve we need to learn how to tend to our heartfelt dreams so that they do indeed manifest in our lives. We need to learn the laws and processes that govern this realm of “dream-building” so that we don’t remain stuck in a childlike euphoric daydream of “magical thinking”, a state that cannot beckon us to become responsible shepherds of our innermost desires and to master the processes that will indeed deliver to us our most heartfelt dreams! The process of bringing the invisible world of our imagination into our physical reality requires patience, diligence, mastery and an understanding of the laws that govern both the realm of the ‘invisible’ and the ‘visible’ – of our mental, emotional, physical and spiritual realities.

(If you have not yet signed up for my FREE e-course “The 7 Key Questions to Propel You towards the Life of Your Dreams”, I invite you to do so… as I introduce some of these tools and strategies to help you jumpstart your dreams! You can sign up on the top right hand corner of this blog!).

But before we jump to the subsequent processes that help our dreams become a reality, we absolutely need to cultivate the initial stage of soaring into the infinite realms of possibility on the wings of our imagination. Our imagination is a potent vehicle that connects us to the vitality and richness of our ‘authentic essence’.

Reigniting a connection with our ‘authentic essence’ can be simple and alot of fun. This process is about reigniting our sense of play and joy simply for the sake of it!

Within each one of us lives a ‘divine child’ - that part of us that absolutely knows how to laugh, play and ‘pretend’ – a part that lives beyond the constraints and limitations of our mind and knows how to delight in the mere joy of living!

When we allow ourselves to re-connect with our ‘divine child’ within, we create an opening to once again experience the joys of ‘losing’ ourselves in the imaginative realm of play – a realm that enables us to fly to the moon, become princesses and wizards, prepare magical potions and sail to faraway shores. It is this same realm that allows us to transport ourselves into the home of our dreams, our ideal relationship or to piano classes we always dreamed of taking. Although this is only one part of the ‘dream-building’ (manifestation) process, it is an extremely potent and important stage that paves the way for all the others.

Here are some ways to connect with your ‘divine child’:

* Dance to your favorite music.

* Buy yourself a set of crayons, color pencils or paints and allow yourself to
paint, draw or scribble just for the fun of it! Then don’t show your 'fun-creation' to anyone – just delight in your willingness to have fun.
* Pick out pictures of people, places, things, colors etc. that you like and that make your heart sing! Then create a collage with all these colors and images.
* Go to the beach or a playground and play in the sand for one whole hour.
* Lie on the grass and stare at the sky.
* Put on some boots and jump in the puddles.
* Go outside and smell the flowers in your garden or local park.
* Play at pretend: “I pretend to be the owner of a successful salon…..I love chatting to all these fun people who drop by to get their nails done.....(just let your imagination soar….it does not have to be real…go with what is fun and joyful for you!).

To conclude, I remind you that had Bill Gates not allowed himself to imagine a world of computers and ‘magical’ communication systems (which, at the time, many thought was mere “magical thinking”), you would not be reading this post on my blog today!

May you taste the joys of breathing, eating, dancing, singing, playing and dreaming…. just because you can…just because it’s fun!
